AIOT | Alrotec
Alrotec-owned benchmark

Design systems people can trust, use, learn from, and grow with.

The Sovereign AI Workforce Design Standard is our yardstick for building African-first applications for an AI-shaped future. It joins human agency, purposeful AI, low-data access, security, interoperability, evidence, commercial sustainability, and continuous improvement.

Ten dimensions

Every platform must earn its way to benchmark quality

A score is not a marketing claim. Product owners must provide evidence. No critical dimension may remain below level 3 for a production release; level 4 is the standard we teach, license, and benchmark against.

01

Purpose and African relevance

Question: Does the experience solve a real local problem with a measurable user outcome?

Proof: Approved problem statement, user evidence, outcome metric, local context.

02

Human agency and HAGAN alignment

Question: Can people understand, question, override, and safely continue every consequential step?

Proof: HAGAN explanation, human owner, escalation route, consent boundary.

03

AI workforce readiness

Question: Does the product help people do better work with AI without hiding limitations or removing accountability?

Proof: AI literacy, copilots with boundaries, simulations, evidence, mentor review.

04

Task-first experience

Question: Can each role reach the next useful action quickly without navigating a decorative maze?

Proof: Role journeys, progressive disclosure, clear status, short paths, recovery.

05

Inclusive and low-data access

Question: Can people with different devices, connectivity, languages, abilities, and confidence participate meaningfully?

Proof: Keyboard, screen reader, Braille-ready semantics, PWA/offline, audio, text, reduced data.

06

Interoperability and portability

Question: Can the platform connect to existing institutions and future systems without surrendering source ownership?

Proof: Typed contracts, APIs, LTI/xAPI/SIS adapters where useful, exports, versioning.

07

Trust, security, and resilience

Question: Can the platform resist abuse, insider misuse, tampering, outages, and data loss while recovering responsibly?

Proof: RBAC, MFA, audit, observability, signed releases, immutable backups, restore test.

08

Evidence and outcomes

Question: Does the system show capability, service improvement, enterprise progress, or impact rather than vanity activity?

Proof: Rubrics, evidence trails, dashboards, sponsor or institution reports, human review.

09

Commercial sustainability

Question: Can the product support a simple entry model and grow into sustainable revenue without dark patterns?

Proof: Clear offer, feature flags, AoBiz handoff, support costs, tenant model, retention value.

10

Evolution and future readiness

Question: Can a new capability be piloted, explained, measured, integrated, and rolled back without destabilising the ecosystem?

Proof: Capability proposal, feature flag, version record, sandbox, release gate, rollback.

Maturity scale

From idea to benchmark

Level 0Absent: no owner, evidence, or usable path.
Level 1Emerging: concept exists but is inconsistent or untested.
Level 2Designed: documented and prototyped with named gaps.
Level 3Validated: tested with representative users and operating evidence.
Level 4Benchmark: repeatable, measurable, accessible, resilient, and suitable to teach or license.
Reusable patterns

One design language across the toolset

Role cockpit

Every learner, facilitator, admin, vendor, finance user, and HQ operator gets a focused next-action workspace.

Explainable automation

AI and rules show purpose, signals, limits, confidence, human review, and next action.

Evidence loop

A task becomes practice, evidence, feedback, improvement, and a portable record.

Offline return

Interrupted work returns safely with draft state, sync status, conflict review, and no silent loss.

Connected handoff

AIOT, AoBiz, AfriNura, NuraVanta, publishing, media, and HQ exchange typed summaries rather than duplicate private databases.

Living trust

Accessibility, support, observability, consent, safety, and human ownership are visible during the journey.

Apply the standard

Build the next African workforce system on evidence

AIOT applies the standard to learning. AoBiz applies it to operations and finance. AfriNura applies it to trust. NuraVanta applies it to adoption. NuraCommerce applies it to commerce. APublishing and Media Studio apply it to knowledge and delivery. HQ applies it to governance, deployment, and resilience.
